Port Macquarie Observatory is proudly managed and operated by the members of the Port Macquarie Astronomical Association.
The Association is a vibrant, volunteer-based not-for-profit registered charity dedicated to promoting knowledge and understanding of our universe and science generally through Open Nights, Telescope Only nights, special events, displays, exhibitions and invited speakers.
Join us for our special and weekly events or become a member and help us to stimulate and develop a love of our astronomical world and the science that it embraces.
The Fascination Trail showcases Port Macquarie’s rich history and unique community experiences. Led by the Observatory and supported by local non-profit organisations, the Trail connects visitors with low-cost, memorable activities for all ages. Passionate volunteers and community-minded groups bring these stories to life, offering a rewarding way to explore beyond the beaches and scenery.

Port Macquarie Astronomical Association (PMAA) is a community of passionate amateur astronomers. You don't need extensive knowledge of the sky or to be a rocket scientist to become a member. All you need is a curiosity or a passion for astronomy and/or science.
Our versatile function space is ideal for private and corporate events, community gatherings, and educational programs. We also welcome schools for tailored tours that inspire the next generation of astronomers.
